Zen Monkey Mind Mastery Zen Buddhism for Beginners with Simple and Easy Meditation Techniques edition by David Schaller Politics Social Sciences eBooks
The practical art of zen, or meditation, has been taught for thousands of years and helps people strip away life's stress, confusion and uncertainty leaving you peaceful and happy, truly appreciating the moment. The main point of meditation is to make the mind still and inactive which can be achieved by sitting intensely for hours in a deep void, or a simple walk through nature, gardening or yoga.
Excellent guidance for anyone to practice zen with various techniques to connect the breath with the body to quiet the mind. I especially liked the idea of Mindful Listening, where you focus on a song without worrying about if you like the genre, or the artist, and just purely listen without judgment. This will make you appreciate it for what it is and quiet the chattering mind.
Yoga is a form of moving meditation, and my absolute favorite, having practiced it for 3 years now. From experience I have gained such peace and euphoria from this wonderful form of zen.
Lastly, learn about the many proven benefits of meditation, such as: decreasing anxiety, worry and pain, and increasing self-esteem, optimism, energy, emotional strength and creativity.
"People who are in a zen state of mind do each thing completely, one at a time without distractions... Phones and other technology usually make life worse under the guise of making it better."
I really enjoyed this quick read and highly recommend it.

Zen Monkey Mind Mastery Zen Buddhism for Beginners with Simple and Easy Meditation Techniques edition by David Schaller Politics Social Sciences eBooks Reviews
Perfect book for those interested in beginning Zen Buddhism. The author explains the essence of Zen and what to do concisely without any filler content. Also easy to read and follow.
Read it! Great for beginners.
I found it to be a straight forward introduction into the Zen methods. Easy to read and offered a practical approach to adding meditation to my daily life. Many of the suggestions are things I have heard before and need to be constantly reminded of doing. Sort of like a traffic light for living life.
There are some great nuggets in this book to help the novice Zen practitioner get started. It's a quick read that will give you the meat to get started.
I got this book because of the name. It named what was going on in my head. I was not disappointed! The information and ideas are eye-opening. A great book to start your journey of meditation and take control of your life.
This is a short, but nice book about the origins of Zen and Buddhism provides proven strategies on how to meditate to attain a state of Zen.
Meditation is defined as the art of “doing nothing”, which is pretty useful today in order to manage the high level of stress that many people are experiencing in our busy era.
Buddhism originated in India and Zen was first introduced to China by an Indian monk, and later on also to Japan here it was called Zen Buddhism.
The meditative Zen mindset designs simply a state of mind where you are relaxed and peaceful. This book shows you some useful techniques which you can apply daily to enter in the state of Zen. You will learn different types of meditation, such as Zazen, Mindfulness, Moving Meditations (Chi Gong, Yoga).
Zen can be practiced anywhere, any time and will help you to sharpen your focus and declutter your mind. According to the author, all you have to do is to make a commitment to apply the exercises shown in this book for the next 21 days.
Try this now and you will surely become more zen.
